Case Title Eighty-one Patients with Multiple Sclerosis & Parkinsons Disease Undergoing Chiropractic Care

Abstract This is a retrosopective study of 81 patients with multiple sclerosis and parkison's disease. The diagnosis and treatment of trauma-induced injury to the upper cervical spine using a protocol developed by the International Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association is discussed. Upper cervical subluxations were found in all 81 cases. After administering treatment to correct their upper cervical injuries, 91% of MS cases and 92% of PD cases showed symptomatic improvement and no further disease progression during the care period. Correcting the injury through the use of IUCCA protocol may arrest and reverse the progression of both MS and PD. Further research is recommended.
Summary This is a very comprehensive retrospective case study which discusses and documents improvements in these two debilitating neurological diseases following upper cervical chiropractic care. According to the author "researchers have reported a strong association between head trauma and subsequent development of PD". Elster also discusses trauma as a possible contributing factor in MS.
These 81 patients were examined and treated over a period of 5 years. The examination and treatment involved the use of paraspinal digital infra-red imaging, laser-aligned upper cervical radiography, knee-chest adjusting procedures and post-adjustment recuperation. 78 of the 81 patients recalled head or neck trauma prior to the onset of PD or MS, including blows to the head, whiplash or concussion. All 81 patients had upper cervical subluxations. Following care 91% of all cases responded favourably to care. Tables provided in the study list each case, atlas listings and symptomatic improvement. For the majority of cases there was a substantial imrpovement in symptoms associated with these two diseases. In many cases symptoms were absent following treatment. These results indicate a causal link between trauma, upper cervical injury, and disease onset of both mutliple sclerosis and Parkínson's disease.
